Hey, Dr. Powers here. We do a lot of
work in lifestyle coaching and one of
the things that is very important to
anybody if they want to really be in in
the best shape that they can be and age
appropriate in life is is working out,
exercise on a regular basis, and good
nutrition, good eating habits. And
people intuitively know that if they go
to the gym and they work out and they
spend the time over a long enough period
of time, they will have results. And
they also know that most of them anyway
that once they get to that ideal body,
some amount of exercise for the rest of
their lives is going to be necessary to
maintain that body. No one believes that
they can go work out, get in great
shape, and then they can stop and never
work out again. Same thing with diet.
Once you dial in that diet and you learn
to eat properly, and you learn to not
only get to, but to maintain that ideal
weight, you can’t just go off the rails
and eat whatever you want to. That is a
discipline that if you carry it properly
through life, you’ll never worry about
your weight again. But if you think you
can diet, hit your goal point, and then
go right off the rails and not progress,
to me, that’s very naive. The same thing
is true with chiropractic care.
Chiropractic is great, and I’ve seen
some miraculous results. But it takes us
time to achieve the kind of results that
you want in terms of your health.
Whether it’s just getting out of chronic
pain, getting to the place where you
want to be with chiropractic care is
going to take some time. And a lot of
people will choose periodic wellness or
maintenance chiropractic care once
they’re feeling good. It’s necessary to
maintain healthy function and motion the
spine for you to have great results for
a lifetime. You don’t have to come back
once you’re feeling good. But our goal
is to not see you back in 2 years with
the same thing that brought you in this
year. We want to correct it to the
greatest possible degree. Keep an eye
out to make sure that you’re going to do
well with less frequent chiropractic
care and peek in from time to time to
make sure that your spine functions in a
way that is going to support you for the
healthy lifestyle that you desire.
Chiropractic care can get you out of
trouble, but I’m really more interested
in can we keep you healthy for the long
term.
